Demand for cyber security in Qatar has grown multifold after the most recent cyber attacks and the approved penalty of 1.37 million USD.
Critical sectors in Qatar – including but not limited to finance and energy – have increased their dependency on technology and state-of-the-art ICT solutions to deliver high-quality, efficient, and effective services. Qatar’s Advisory (Shura) Council has approved the draft of a landmark new data privacy law, requiring companies to increase their level of data security and protection against cyber threats. Failure to do so could result in hefty fines of up to 1.37 million USD (5 million QAR).
Naseba’s 11th Cyber Defence Summit will address the importance of protecting critical infrastructure and sensitive information, help companies procure cyber security solutions and services, and create further awareness of cyber security among the youth of Qatar.
The summit’s two-day agenda will have two different target audiences, with complementary objectives.
Day 1: Over 120 CIOs, CISOs and Heads of IT and Security will participate on a private and complimentary basis. Primarily representing organisations with critical infrastructure and sensitive information, they will discuss current and future challenges along with associated solutions, benchmark standards and strategies with peers, and procure solutions for their ongoing and upcoming projects.
Day 2: As developing sustainable talent is a key recommendation of Qatar’s National Cyber Security Strategy and National Vision 2030, the second day of the summit will consist of a youth empowerment program named “CyQ” (Cyber youth Qatar). Qatar’s platform for developing local cyber security talent, CyQ will gather over 50 University students and young security enthusiasts to create further awareness and test their skills in a variety of “white hat” security areas.
Majority of the attendees were decision makers and key influencers. We are confident of doing business with them soon.Associate Vice President, Spire Solutions
