Sharihan Al Mashary, Emirati, Hotelier & Policy influencer with 12 years of expertise in her professional field of Hospitality and Hotels – with both of her academic and post grad majors are in International Hospitality Management; following years in Hotel Operations, opening 2 luxury 5 star Resorts. Sharihan stood out as the strongest young Hospitality leader in the country to be appointed as the first female Emirati General Manger in the history of the region, and for Emaar Hospitality Group (EHG). For over 12 years Sharihan’s dedication and service to the Hospitality Industry has won her many international and regional Awards across the Hospitality dimension.  She has recently been awarded with the Impact Award for Arab Young Leader at AHIC 2019, honoured with The David Rockefeller Bridging Leadership Award as founding member of Global Sustainability Network (GSN) an organisation dedicated to eradicating modern day slavery, cultivate sustainable economic growth through employment of youth and women by 2030 as set forth by the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals(Goal 8)— currently serving as Steering Committee Member for EHG-Dubai Expo2020 for Hospitality & Sustainability; incubated Sustainability, CSR and Sustainable Development concept for the company; created National Programme for Emirati Youth Graduates; project co-led Women-in-Leadership Programme. Sharihan became the first female Emirati to entirely support her nation’s team of EmiratesSkills as field Expert in WorldSkills International and trained the national youth for global Technical & Vocational Education in the Service Industry (Hospitality) and National and World competitions for years; also became the first female Emirati to judge at Hotelympia London 2018.

A former Aero & Astro-science student who then became accepted as the first female to join Abu Dhabi Men’s College in Aeronautical Mechanics & Airline Management left the mechanics world to join the service industry. Her ‘statement of interest’ for the Hospitality Field is her ‘statement of Service’ in strengthening the employment of youth and women; transforming cultural mindsets and policies of recruitment for student internships, gender parity, meritocracy, homogeneity, and Technical & Vocational Education.

Her deep commitment to ethics, service to humanity and her nation, bridged Sharihan to doing more than just ‘her bit’ – her involvement with Community Development Authorities, Vocational & Technical Education, University curriculum development, and her continuous support to UAE’s governmental entities’ local, regional and global initiates are evident in her work, achievements and her dedication towards United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, and in particular, Goal 8 (Economic Growth, Decent Work for All, Eradicating Modern Day Slavery).

After becoming one of the founding board members of the Global Sustainability Network (GSN), an organization dedicated to eradicating modern slavery, economic growth and youth & women employment by 2030 as set forth by the UN Sustainable Development Goals—Sharihan is determined to see changes in the Tourism & Hospitality industry and within its supply-chains. Sharihan is praised for strategic outlook, extensive knowledge of her field, project executions and value-based leadership by Industry Professionals and the Government. Sharihan envisions  to enable the spread of knowledge, experience, share of effective model on Sustainable Development Solutions and its cross-continental implementation.
