Investors from the Gulf Cooperation Council, or GCC, are choosing to increasingly look beyond Africa’s traditionally attractive sectors – including energy and agriculture – to focus on the opportunities available in its property markets, which are characterised by a great deal of volatility, but also the potential for massive returns. The GCC is comprised of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman. Although the region was heavily affected by the oil price crash, investors from these six markets remain highly liquid and eager to invest in overseas opportunities.

These opportunities span a variety of sectors, with real estate being by far the most prominent. Even in volatile real estate markets, including African markets, GCC investors are finding reasons to invest. At a recent convention held by the South African Property Owners Association, panellists highlighted the unique challenges presented by Africa’s property markets.
According to Ian Anderson, Chief Investment Officer at Grindroid Asset Management, an increasing number of companies are looking for opportunities in Africa. Experts at the panel clarified that property in Africa is as much of a long-term investment as it is anywhere else in the world – including not only the rest of Africa, but also other growth markets around the world.
Naseba has spent over a decade building a network of contacts with investors based around the world – including the Middle East. We are currently sourcing real estate and development projects around the world on behalf of these investors.
On October 17th, 2016, we will be organising a private investor meeting in Riyadh to introduce pre-screened Middle Eastern investors to pre-qualified real estate investment opportunities.
